Bemerkung:Benke/Hafer family Bible, birth Record: Henriette Frederike Willhelmine Haffer, born Villwotd in November 23, 1841 in Seehof Municipality, Rummelsburg, Hinter Pommern, Germany. I married Ferdinand Haffer in 1868. Two daughters were born. We emigrated to America in the year 1892. I became faithful to the Lord Jesus and was baptized by Br. Schulz of the First Baptist Society of St. Joseph. Letter from Edith Benke Larson to Doris Milelli: Ferdinand Haffer (b. 1833) in Germany or Switzerland) married Henrietta Vilvock (b. 1835) in Alsace, Lorraine. Married in Germany. Had one child, Adeline (b. 1867). Emigrated to Russia. Ferdinand was a lieutenant in the Franco Prussian war. The Haffers adopted a girl, Bertha who married Fred Biastock. They had 12 children. Letter from Edith Benke Larson to Doris Milelli: Ferdinand and Henrietta were kind, gentle and hard working people. They lived near Oxbow Bend. In old age they lived with their daughter, Adeline. Ferdinand died at 96, Henrietta at 94, both in 1929. They were buried at Crystal Springs, Benton Harbor, Michigan. Letter from Edith Benke Larson to Doris Milelli: Henrietta belonged to the German Baptist Church. They were buried in Crystal Springs. Doris Milelli Notes (from Edith Benke) have Henrietta born in Alsace Lorraine in 1835 The Willwock (Villwock) family originates from West Prussia or Pommerania. They probably did not pass through Poland bu emmigrated directly to Volhynia. Private communicaation from Ewald Wuschke The Baronal Sehoff (lake place) had 8 dwellings with 114 people at the time of the census. In addition there were two farms: Luisenhof (Louise's Place) with 6 dwellings and 51 people and Putsch (insurrection or riot) with 3 dwellings and 30 people. So, for the total Baronlanded estate, there were 17 dwellings and 195 people. Of the 195 people, 102 were female and 93 were male. In 1867, there were 201 people in the Seehof Baronal Estate. All 195 are listed as Prussian by nationality and 194 are listed as Evangelical Lutherine with one listed as Catholic. Of the 195, 50 were under the age of 10 and 96 are shown as able to read and write. Another 49 are indicated as unable to read or write. There are farms in the area also called Seehof. The one in Baronal Biall is shown with 2 dwellings and 26 people. Another farm in Baronal Brunnow has 2 dwellings and 36 people. (Brunnow Baronal and Baronal Papenzin also have farms called Charlottenhof - Charlotte's place). In these Baronal Estates, rents were paid to the Baron. 1871 Census of Kreis (County) Rummelsburg, District of Koslin, Province of Pommern (West Prussia), Empire of Germany - Translated by Caroline Alyce Kasischke (with assistance of John Milton and Hedwig Isolde Liesel Herchenrother Hingst)
