| Autoren: | RAUNER, F.; RUTH, K. | Titel: | Perspectives of research in 'Industrial Culture' | Abstract: | After the setbacks that occurred to all kinds of deterministic approaches in production technology design and application during the last years a theory which includes a wide range of influential variables seems to be necessary. This paper develops these to an industrial culture approach which is a counterpart to industrial sociological approaches based upen the term industrial society. The concept of industrial culture not only emphasizes the differences between comparable industrial societies, but even elevates these to the level of characteristics. Thus, the goal of the industrial culture approach is to contribute to a new foundation of design, transfer and use of production technologies (Programmable Automation in particular) that is based on nontechnical determinants. As it emphasizes the cultural differences, this approach is in a certain sense an antithesis to theories of the convergency of "industrial societies", but as an holistic approach it is the unity of contradictions; that means both, the converging and the diverging tendencies are taken into consideration and reflect thus their complex interplay in reality. | Herausgeber: | | Buch/Zeitschriftname: | | Verlag: | | Ort: | Bremen | Jahr: | 1990 | Jhrg.: | | BdNr.: | | HeftNr.: | | Seitenzahl: | 115-132 | ISBN/ISSN: | | Preis: | 5,00 DM | BestellNr.
